On January 4th, 2010 the following policy goes into effect:
Personal Electronic Devices (amended policy from student planner):
Students are strongly discouraged from bringing personal electronic devices to school. Use of music listening devices (i.e. iPods) with headphones, during class will be at the discretion of the teacher. Cell phones are not to be visible, heard, or used anywhere during class time. The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
In other words, students may use cell phones before and after school, during passing times, and lunch. If a student cell phone is seen, heard, or used anywhere on campus other than during those allowed times, it will be confiscated, turned over to the school administration, and the parent will be contacted and required to retrieve it. Cell phones will not be returned directly to students. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we highly value our instructional time and insist it not be disrupted by student cell phones. During class time, parents may contact students through our offices and students may contact parents, as appropriate, utilizing our school phone system.
